"As She Hadn't Really Had Human Food in a While."

Caroline pushed through the doors of the Mystic Grill as she looked down at her watch, seeing it was getting sort of late. Thank Jesus it was a long weekend, so she wouldn't have to be in early. There were really no perks of being a vampire, when you're a teenager. "Hey." Is all she could really say to Alexis, whom she knew from school as she guided her to a booth. Caroline took a seat and picked up a menu, as she hadn't really had human food in a little while.

Damon was making his way to the Grill, wondering if there would be anyone he knew there. It was a long weekend, so a lot of people had travelled and Mystic Falls was quite empty, even for a small town parameter.

As he walked into the restaurant, he grinned slightly. He wasn't really in the mood to be alone, and there, sitting in a booth, was Caroline, a menu on her hands. He made his way to her, a small smirk form in his lips. Harassing the young vampire was a great entertainment.

"Hey Blondie!" Damon greeted her.

Caroline scratched her head as she looked on the menu, up and down until she could find something that didn't completely disgusting. Human food wasn't as appealing, or possibly appealing at all, to her anymore. She thought that she could brave it through, but it's kinda like when you're having sex and you're just like okay, I'm gonna go again. But when you're done, you're just like...thanks. Kinda like that. She looked up pass her menu and saw Damon of all people. "Hey, statutory rapist." She said, referring to when she first met him and was only like 17, when he was human 26, vampire one hundr..a lot older then her.

Damon's smirk became wider as he heard Caroline's words. He knew very well what she meant. "You liked it and you know it." He replied as he sat beside her. It didn't bother him that she had been so much younger than him. It hadn't been the first time he had done that.

"You're having food?" He asked her.

Caroline scooted over, annoyed that she pretty much had to. She looked back down at the menu and turned to Damon as he asked if she was having human food. "Well, yeah. I mean I can't really get fat now...so...." She smiled and looked over to Alexis, who had just come over. "Can I get a big plate with half bacon and half plantain?" She said smiling. "Interesting...but okay?" Caroline thanked her as she walked away,nodding her head. She turned back to Damon and put her elbows on the table. "What are you doing here, anyways?"

Damon watched as the waitress turned away, considering having a little snack. He dismissed the idea as he thought about the lecture he would have to hear from Caroline and Elena if he did so. He could make someone they didn't know his snack.

He turned his attention back to Caroline as she asked him what he was doing there. "Do I have to have a reason?" Damon replied, raising an eyebrow.

Caroline shrugged her shoulders and looked back to her front as Alexis took the menu and left. "Well, when you sleep with vampire slut 365, who happens to be apparently dating my ex, and douche out to Elena...you kinda do." She said, sighing, hoping she wasn't overstepping her boundaries. She didn't want to be blunt, but no one likes that original bitch stick.

Damon raised his eyebrows, a bit surprised. He thought that word would get around about him sleeping with Rebekah, but he hadn't thought that it would be so quick. "You know about that?" He asked rhetorically.

He stopped to think about why he had come to the Grill. It had been almost automatic. The restaurant was a place he just went to pretty much everyday and got a few drinks. But that day he thought he gone there because he felt like chilling out a bit, and he didn't want to be around his brother or Elena. Sure, he could meet them at the Grill, but it was less probable than meeting them at the Boarding House. "I just wanted to get a few drinks." Damon replied.

"Yes." She said, nodding her head, looking at him with disgust, but also an unusual smirk. "Yes I do." She finished off, wondering where her shit was. When Caroline was younger, every weekend morning her dad would make her the meal she just ordered. She's skinny now, because he left and she stopped getting it every weekend.

Caroline snapped back into reality as she heard Damon's comment. "Define, drinks..." She said, a little skeptical. Most vampires would just mean a human, but Damon was not only a human drinking vamp, he was also a drunk...

Damon chuckled as Caroline asked him to define drinks. He had come there with the intent of having some real, conventional drinks, but after she mentioned the other kind of drinks, he started to look at people's neck in a hunter like way.

But no, he wouldn't have that kind of drink, he wasn't hungry yet. Unless, of course, Caroline was willing to have a group lunch, but he highly doubted that she was. She usually drank blood from blood bags, anyway.

"The conventional kind of drink. Unless you want to have a group meal..." He smirked.

Caroline somewhat off in space, scratched her head and looked down at her empty space in front of her on the table. She was actually getting hungry, with the whole vampire thing, it kinda made it worse. Very very worse. Grr. Is how she thought of this, in her head of course.

Caroline then kinda made a, 'What the fuck did you just do?' , face to herself. Mostly because she just realized she may have gave Damon an idea. One of those ideas. Really? Must I elaborate? The vampy thoughts!

She then looked over to Damon rolling her eyes, "I'm not...that...kinky." She said, "You of all people should know that..."

A small smirk came to Damon's lips as Caroline replied. "It was worth a try." He shrugged.

But he was still hungry and he knew it wasn't going to pass to until he got himself something to drink, and it was really starting to bother him. He would wait for a while, though, maybe time enough for him to find someone from whom he would really like to drink.

"So you're going to fill yourself with a bunch of food you won't really like? You know that any of those things are nothing compared to human blood." He asked her, lowering his tone as he said the last sentence and hoping that it would spare him the lecture he could see coming about drinking directly from humans.

"Really?" She asked, angrily stuffing some of the stuff into her mouth. "Mmm ...grease!" She said, giving off an awkward face and grabbing a napkin. "Eh....grease." She concluded, spitting it into a napkin. "This proves nothing. And..." She scratched her ear and rolled her eyes. "I'm gonna feed." She said, gathering herself together.

Damon let out a slight chuckle and eyed the napkin where Caroline had spit of the food. Human food could still taste good for vampires, but it was an acquired taste. For Caroline, he was almost sure that it tasted terrible.

"Still doesn't prove anything?" He asked her, raising an eyebrow. "Then go ahead and finish your food."

Caroline glared at Damon as she roughlypulled her shirt down straightening out any invisible ruffles she had on it. The human food she ate still tasted the same....it was just like...orange juice and vodka!! Vodka alone...was drinkable. But orange juice mixed in with vodka was like a drug. Kind of like blood now.

Caroline closed her eyes and stuck another handful in her mouth. "Yum..."

Damon chuckled again and shook his head. Caroline was very stubborn. Not that he could complain without being a hypocrite.

He watched as she stuffed more food into her mouth, wondering how far she would go just to prove that she was right. Probably very far, he guessed. But for the moment, he was content with just watching her trying to actually enjoy her food.

"It sure sounds like you're enjoying your meal." He said, sarcasm clear in his voice.

Caroline, still closing her eyes, forcefully swallowed the rest on her plate. "I am..thank you." She said, opening her eyes finally. "How..do you like me now?" She said, sounding strangely loud and...awkwardly, brave.
